Volume 6, Issue 35
Because, even in the light of constant personal attack on the President every single day by the national news outlets, 46% of the public is still adamant in their approval of Donald Trump’s Presidency.
Claiming that this is the worst week for the President is quite an extraordinary statement. Because of the relentless personal attacks by the news media, they are hard pressed to rank the weeks by negative intensity. All weeks have been unmerciful. Donald Trump has been tried in the courts of the intellectuals. Their verdict is that he is a racist, bigot, misogynist, xenophobic with little or no compassion for the oppressed. He colluded with the Russians to steal the election. He is unhinged and incapable of proper leadership. He hires inferior people for the purpose of setting up authoritarian control. This is quite an amazing indictment. There is no end to their disdain for him. And such attacks on a sitting President are unprecedented.
Anyone has a right to this opinion of the President. But for the media, these opinions should be at least reported in the context and reference of what is the purpose of the United States to the individual. And what is the role of the Constitution in protecting that purpose. If, in fact, the President is culpable of any the characteristics impugned upon him by the national press, then the story is, what is wrong with the 46%? The press would have you believe that they (the 46%) have complicity with the President and his agenda. Yet they fail to apply the same thorough investigation into the hearts and minds of the public as they do the President.
Who are the 46%?
Ignored Compatriots
Martha McSally is a retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot. She achieved the rank of Major while serving 22 years in the military. She is now running for the Republican nomination for the open U.S. Senate seat in Arizona now held by Senator Jeff Flake. She believes in strong national defense, less government, states’ rights, and individual liberty. But she is a compatriot of the left on women’s rights.
McSally was represented by the Rutherford Institute in a successful 2001 lawsuit against the Department of Defense, challenging the military policy that required U.S. and U.K. servicewomen stationed in Saudi Arabia to wear the body-covering abaya when traveling off base in the country. At the time of the lawsuit McSally, as a Major (O-4), was the highest ranking female fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Her suit alleged "the regulations required her to send the message that she believes women are subservient to men." In addition to the issue of religious garb, McSally noted that policies also included other requirements:
In a "60 Minutes" interview broadcast on CBS on January 20, 2002, she described the discrimination she experienced under the policy: "I have to sit in the back and at all times I must be escorted by a male ... [who], when questioned, is supposed to claim me as his wife," she said. "I can fly a single-seat aircraft in enemy territory, but [in Saudi Arabia] I can't drive a vehicle.

The Arizona primary is being held today. She is running as someone who fully supports the Presidency of Donald Trump. Why? Because she is a patriot, one who believes in the United States’ role for the protection of freedom anywhere in the world.
Family-Owned Businesses
There are 10 million family-owned businesses in the United States employing approximately 70 million people. An example of these family firms includes principals who are the mother, father, daughter and son-in-law. The daughter decides to start a family and becomes pregnant. That family business does not need the federal government to dictate parental leave guidelines for either the daughter or son-in-law. They are perfectly capable, as a nuclear family, of taking care of all the needs, physically, economically and spiritually, of that daughter and grandbaby. Liberals, for whatever reason, cannot admit that a large segment of American society is doing just fine as a family. Government intervention is not required, necessary or productive. Those who believe in socialism can envision no boundaries restricting government intrusion.
Many family-owned businesses approve of Donald Trump because he sees no need for government intervention into the social policy of a family-owned business. His policy allows a family to pursue a vocation and family relationship on their own terms and convictions.
Candidate Donald Trump, in the summer of 2016, attended a meeting of evangelical leaders in New York City to, in part, be interviewed for his views on the First Amendment. He however asked a most penetrating question of the audience, “Why is it politically incorrect to say anything critical in reference to minorities, opinions on sexual orientation, discussion about gender, or the Muslim faith when it is absolute open season on Christians?” He further inquired, “How did it happen that Christians, who were instrumental in the founding of this country, are now, in many quarters of intellectualism, condemned, persecuted and vilified?” The entire audience went silent. The national press would have you believe that all evangelicals care about is the nominating of conservative Justices to the Supreme Court to support their way of life.
The truth is that the doctrine of “separation of church and state” was invoked by the Supreme Court by opinion to restrict the government from establishing a religion. It has now gone unchecked to the extreme point that the left now advocates its premise for the restriction of religion in the public marketplace of ideas. Christianity is to be eliminated from the public square.
Christians today have the emotional feeling of being sent back to the Colosseum unprotected and viciously attacked by the metaphorical lions of the left.
Donald Trump is committed to the First Amendment and the protection of every American’s right to practice religion fully in life without ridicule or persecution.
Examining the basic character of the American citizen answers the question of the mystery about the adamancy of the 46%.
Today’s news includes the announcement from the White House that the United States has reached terms for a new trade treaty with Mexico. The national press immediately attacks it as “not that big a deal” and unlikely to be passed into law. Really? Now they’re trade experts without full knowledge of the agreement’s content.
Whatever happened to reporting the news without editorial comment? And before any editorial opinion is rendered, where is the statement of preamble defining the purpose of the United States and its people laid as a foundation? All the press does today is look past and over any germane analysis of a factual situation to pursue a straight attack on the President. Their protocol is misleading, a disservice, and a denial of the basic attitudes of the 46% who are founded in their beliefs and deserving of respect.
Are there irrational activists in all causes? Yes, and they must be kept in context. But the national debate today is centered on an agenda disguised as a purpose. Even the tragic passing of Senator John McCain has resulted in the press yelling at the President in an open news conference in the Oval Office, demanding that he call Senator McCain a hero. John McCain was an exceptional public servant, patriot, warrior, and defender of truth. It is not the press’ role to extract their desired comments from the President of the United States. That is pushing an agenda. It is their appropriate role to report to the American people the President’s position on any issue or situation.
When reporting the findings of the national survey that 46% of the public still supports the President, in an NBC interview, Senator Jeff Flake quizzically asked the interviewer, “You do realize that part of the problem is that the public is suspicious of your negative reporting, don’t you?” The interviewer denied responsibility and immediately blamed the President for the hostile environment. They continue to be in denial of their own lack of respect from the public. This, even after the election where public opinion polls indicated the press was part of the problem.
Run-off elections for governor and other statewide offices are being conducted today in the State of Oklahoma. It has been an unprecedented season of negative campaign ads. The public is exhausted with all of the negativism. We soon will know whether these negative ads have been rejected.
There are many definitions of patriotism, commitment and devotion. Respect for all citizens’ devoir towards eternal principles is the essence of the American character. Acceptance of diversity is critical in ethnicity and values.
The unity of the United States depends upon the belief that, in the acceptance of this diversity of both physical and spiritual doctrines, is the strength of our social fabric.
