We are naïve to neglect those forces that, in a crisis of vulnerability, strive to eliminate freedom as an unnecessary elixir of societal lifeblood.
On May 15th, the ousted former dictator of Bolivia, Evo Morales, met with other communist agitators to strategize the advancement of communism throughout South and Central America. The hypocrisy of this movement knows no bounds. It is not enough that communism has always failed in history, including in Bolivia. Mr. Morales was forced to flee the country after thirteen years of destructive communist policy. Speculation questions who actually funded the meeting.
China is unabashed in its efforts to expand its economic influence throughout Asia and Africa. Instead of cooperating with world leaders to determine the origin of the coronavirus, they practice disinformation and continue to pursue their communist economic agenda. Their reach extends as far as Central America. Instead of sharing data, information, and critical personal protection equipment, they offer services to other countries only in exchange for guarantees of favorable trade arrangements.
Most recently Australia rejected China’s demands of economic advantages for healthcare support. When Australia declined exclusivity for Huawei, the Chinese technological giant, China threatened trade sanctions. Technological dominance, including artificial intelligence (AI), is central to their economic strategy.
Within the past two weeks, the Chinese military has threatened cargo vessels navigating the Taiwan Strait. China now claims authority over the South China Sea from Vietnam to the Philippines. They appear to be pursuing a geographical strategy first attempted by Japan during World War II. It is not their intent to dominate the United States. It is their intent to dominate their quadrant of the world.
The conundrum presents itself when it is realized that only by elimination of any competition can communism survive, even in its own corner of the world.
In 2017, a conference of billionaires was held in New York City. In attendance were Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, David Rockefeller, Ted Turner, and others. The meeting lasted six hours. No transcript was released. The purported purpose of the gathering was to discuss how to best use charity to better the living standards of the world.
It is interesting that these individuals saw no need to have elected officials involved in their planning. Their conclusions, therefore, rested on the opinion that the collective efforts of philanthropic foundations could, in and of themselves, direct policies to lift families out of poverty. The resulting actions of the group would indicate that their efforts have focused mainly on healthcare services and, in particular, vaccines.
Progressives in the United States are determined to achieve two things in 2020: defeat President Trump for president and establish government standards for individual activity and family values. Again, it is interesting that liberals, who see only more government control as societal solutions, conveniently ignore the lessons of history and socialism’s failures. Further, they reject any accomplishments of a free enterprise, capitalistic system of government, irrespective of the stability that it provides for allied governments.
Those who are apostles for socialism are relying upon Greek gods.
The Greeks worshipped mythical gods who reflected their character, their emotions, their desires, and their insecurities. Their gods warred with each other, just as they did with those who were not of their tribe. When misfortune beset them, they paid homage to a false god, much like they expected those dependent upon them to pay homage to them as their leaders.
When strategic policy or actions of government or war were not successful, they often doubled-down on their foundational conclusion rather than admit they were wrong. For they believed that all powers of intellect resided in mankind. Their gods were simply an extension of their authority. Therefore, they couldn’t possibly be wrong in their premise.
How else can one explain Evo Morales chairing a meeting of communists to actually propose that communism is anything but a mythical ideology?
The United States was founded on the simple principle that God is sovereign over man and man is sovereign over government. It’s not just that all rights of mankind are unalienable as granted by God. It is that God made man in His own image, not the other way around. God’s principles of governance are righteousness. Only in freedom can a man or woman reach their potential in partnership with God as designed by His sovereignty in ultimate perfection.
Only the United States was founded upon this principle of “in God we trust.”
Europe was a society and culture that contributed to the ethos of America. America established the rights of free speech and freedom of religion as constitutional rights. These rights exist only in America. In this war of economic ideological perception, Europe will resist communism. However, socialism is the sister of a king-peasant relationship. Because of bloated government and excessive debt, Europe cannot by itself defend against these worldwide movements for socialism. Only the United States of America can “keep the lighthouse lit” as the beacon for freedom.
The good intentions of seeking Elysium are meritable. In reality, socialism always progresses into total government control, often resulting in communism. Such a government system never reaches stability or equilibrium. It always requires aid and abetting from an outside source. Europe relies on America’s markets without which it would collapse. Freedom and free enterprise in the United States of America is the singular force stabilizing the entire world economy.
These are the times that will test mankind’s will to be free.
In the vein of Winston Churchill, never, never, never give up on freedom.
