Volume 9, Issue 49
This week, travel was curtailed from the U.K. to other countries. Businesses are desperate for normal commerce. Efforts by world governments will present all sorts and manner of things for solutions. They will, in essence, be well-intended. However, government solutions often have unintended consequences.
Fear and anxiety can be overwhelming if one does not understand that all security rests in the attitude of one’s own mind and faith.”
Last year’s Nuttle Report dated December 22, 2020.
The above three paragraphs were the opening statement of last year’s closing Nuttle Report. It is striking how relevant the statement is to today’s current events. One could coin the phrase, “what a difference a year does not make.”
The emergence of the Omicron variant, gridlock in Congress, cities in conflict, and the continued disruption of both the physical and human supply chain increases the propensity of fear and anxiety to overwhelm. The troubles pressuring society can seem impervious to solution if experiences define one’s reality. However, if experiences are expected by a given reality, then, no matter what they are, they can be dealt with realistically.
The results of interwoven human nature in a fallen world are the experiences anticipated from the order of a sinful society. Disease, catastrophes, acts of nature, crime, and accidents are all elements of a fallen world, left unchecked as unintended by the ordained order of creation.
Faith in a greater Kingdom of God renders peace of mind in knowing that mankind is on a journey through this system of things that will ultimately end in paradise. The journey does not define ultimate reality. Only the destination is determinative. In faith… “I no longer pay attention to my experiences as the ground of Reality, but only to the Reality which produced the experiences.” (Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest)
The hope of Christmas is that Jesus is who He said He was. He was born, He was crucified, He was resurrected, and He will come again. Christ is the bridge from this system of things to Kingdom Paradise. He is the hope of the reality of the Christian faith.
Therefore, do not dwell on the experiences of this system of things. Dwell on the hope of Christ’s promise…
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Luke 2:10-14
In this Holy season, in these times, faced with these current experiences now before us, be at peace in the promise of Christ as we celebrate His birth.
My name is Marc Nuttle and this is what I believe.
