A completely comprehensive change in the public’s perspective of government is impending. Instead of contemplating whether government is heading in the right direction, the public is fearful that the entire structure of government must be changed. They are afraid that government is now incapable of delivering services requested, required, and essential.
Citizens feel threatened that government, as presently constituted, is headed for a train wreck.
Direction of government is now less determinative. This consternation is not driven as much by conservative versus liberal, Republican versus Democrat, capitalist versus socialist, or the past versus the future. The essence of the morosity is the public’s lack of confidence that the government can function at all.
The current debacle of COVID-19 vaccinations is just the tip of the iceberg. A vast majority of the public wants inoculation. The government has not yet mandated the injection. The public is frustrated both with the process and delays of what is perceived as a great public need. This emotion of lack of respect for government’s unfulfilled promises will not pass with the pandemic. A majority of the public has come to the conclusion that the government is inept and, therefore, out of: time and second chances.
In the foreword to Martin Gurri’s book, The Revolt of the Public, Arnold Kling states that, “If the public loses patience and respect for the government, the result would be disintegration. If elites choose to dig in, they are likely to resort to repression.”
History is replete with revolts of the public against government. However, all are not the same. The American Revolution of 1776 was a revolt against the king with a new form of government “by the people” in mind. The French Revolution of 1789 was a revolt against the king to destroy the monarchy without any new form of government in mind. The American case has resulted in democracy and freedom for over 244 years. The French case resulted in nihilism. Napoleon replaced the king as emperor within 15 years. It is essential that America does not repeat the French example.
The world is now facing a Great Reset. It is unavoidable. Mismanagement of governments globally by deficit spending, printing money, and borrowing against future generations’ inheritance is approaching the wall of no return. Such government direction is on a collision course of destruction on the wrong track. Government’s ability to provide basic services is becoming suspect by the people.
Often, as cited by Kling, elites tend to dig in and double down. 2021 is no different.
The World Economic Forum has announced its Great Reset agenda. The curriculum and content covers every aspect of government’s interaction with people in society. The agenda includes coordination of all governments for prescribed outcomes that are professed to be benefits to individuals and solutions for society. They fail to warn and ignore the consequences to the curtailment of freedom and personal individuality. It is as if they propose that government controls have not worked because all governments were not coordinated in a one-world effort. Freedom of the individual was allowed too much discretion for the objective of conformity.
This redirection of governments on their current tracks would have occurred anyway because it is impossible for a government to print and borrow money forever. If this were so, governments would be nothing more than councils to authorize spending for any moral purpose to benefit humanity. There would be no need then for God. The question with no answer is, what is morality without God? Virtue is any one person’s definition at any given time. It is not eternal or codified. Therefore, even with such a council, there would be no consistent direction for morality or purpose of government.
COVID-19 has accelerated the result of deleterious consequences, producing the situation of a collapsed reality. The world’s economic system is shattered. Thousands of small businesses will not reopen. Supply chains have been broken and must be reconstituted. Retail purchasing habits have been changed forever. The labor market requires realignment and retraining. The elites’ answer is to adhere to the famous adage, “never waste a crisis.” In other words, they are taking advantage of the situation and they are doubling down.
Without resistance, the globalist elites will have their way in their Great Reset. This will be nothing more than a great experiment in the future failure of greater socialism. Socialism can be maintained only through the extension of government totalitarianism. Total government control strips the individual of identity or individual purpose. In such a society, there is no gender equality, political correctness, gay and lesbian rights, religious liberty, right to bear arms, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, or right to a fair trial. In such a society, there is no due process, independent courts, free press, or transparency. All of the above are seen as weakening agents of government control for the government objective.
Hyperbole? Ask the citizens of Hong Kong.
The right track is for more local control of the decision-making process. Citizens should determine, by city, political philosophy and government policy. National government should cede authority to local areas for experimentation. Citizens can be tolerant of mistakes if they are learned from and corrected by themselves through local government. Education, health care, banking regulations, debt management, and job force development should be the responsibility, obligation, and purview of local government.
So far, national leaders and world elites in power have shown no inclination to trust the collective freedom of people in making decisions for themselves to determine government programs, services, and “implementing policy”.
It is instinctive, not only to human nature, but in the innate motivation for survival, to thirst for freedom. There is a point where people begin to question and view the future in a different way. Society will never be forced again into a past debaucherous system representative of the Middle Ages landlord-tenant relationship. Living to serve the state through conformity, at the state’s behest, is static interference to the heartbeat of one’s soul demanding freedom. At the point of recognition that such a future is inevitable, revolt will come.
America is the only country with the resources, the cultural history, and the institutional structure to defy the ceding of power to an entity of global control. The Great Reset of 2021 must start with each of us to protect the integrity of representative government through local citizen responsibility and authority. The train on the track can be set in the right direction if we will believe that government cannot provide all things without controlling all aspects of our lives.
Our rights come from God. They are self-sustaining in relationship with Him and to each other.
