Volume 5, Issue 45
By the realization that there is existence, then by definition, current existence must have been preceded by prior existence. In other words, a past leads to the future. By third dimension parameters, the past then must always have existed. If something always existed, then a great uncaused cause must be the answer.
One consensus led by the renowned theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking is that gravity is the uncaused cause. It always existed. It is the foundational base physical law of the universe. Recently, the collision between two stars has indicated that, in fact, gravitational waves can disrupt or impact the space time continuum. Pretty heavy stuff for a layman. But the question still remains – what produced gravity? No one has that answer except in a theory yet to be proven.
In the spiritual nature of mankind, there is also a foundational force that cannot be explained by evolution or any other known theory. It is the inexorable attraction to truth of the human intellect. From whence did it come? Secularists will argue that early man learned to hunt in cooperation with each other, becoming a key element of survival of the species. This does not explain why the human intellect seeks the advantage of truth for other individuals. Certainly, Darwin’s theory of evolution does not provide an answer in that survival of the fittest would not have generated compassion for communities other than an individual’s own tribe.
Therefore, one can come to the conclusion that this natural attraction and desire to seek truth, like gravity, always existed from the beginning of time.
If other dimensions exist (some astrophysicists theorize thirteen dimensions), yet to be understood or defined, then the answer to how something always could have been is still beyond the grasp of comprehension in relationship to our everyday lives in the third dimension. Further, those who postulate answers to the question ‘how could gravity always have existed?’ do so from the view point that the universe is a cold, dark, meaningless system by which the existence of life is the consequence of a random, unintended sequence of events. Therefore, life has no real meaning, only the existence of the universe matters.
This approach to the theory of existence completely ignores the fact that an element of human spirit exists to seek the truth, and in that meaning, the meaning of life. If the astrophysicists’ rules of theory engagement are applied equally to the fact of the inexorable attraction to truth of the human intellect, then the existence of this attraction must also be explained.
Attraction to truth could not have come from a cold, dark universe referenced by random sequences of events. Why? Because this would be inconsistent with the laws of gravity.
Gravity is impersonal.
The basic premise of the attraction to truth is that there is a truth governing a designed universe to establish a purpose for the human spirit.
Attraction to truth is personal.
Just as gravity cannot be ignored in nature, neither can spiritual attraction to truth be ignored. Gravity works every time, everywhere in the universe. Humankind seeking the truth is a constant in the history of mankind.
If one denies the truth, they allow the decision-making process to default to other forces in this system of things of society. Such lack of will leads to chaos. This default then results solely on government making moral decisions. When yielding to and committing to truth, clarity is realized, even in difficult circumstances. For truth leads to purpose.
The path towards progress is often obscured, but the road based on truth lights its own way.
What then is the simple truth? Freedom of will and exercising that will. This personal imperative manifested is the result of the principle of truth protected.
In economics, it is free to choose, as the noted economist Dr. Milton Friedman proclaimed. In vocation, it is the freedom to pursue one’s choice for livelihood. It is freedom of movement. It is the freedom of maintained rights.
In government, it is city authority closest to the people’s will. In morality, it is the family unit. Men and women choosing their own definitions of proper character. In religion, it is the unobstructed pursuit of faith as each individual defines it.
In the Declaration of Independence, it is the freedom of will for the right to pursue happiness.
What Then Does This Mean?
- Take control of your own family. Profess to yourself and your children what you believe about the greater universe and our existence.
- Engage at the city level through volunteer organizations, city government, or individual activity, to design, frame, and direct city services and the environment that you desire to accommodate your definition of family morality and your children’s future.
- Do not default to the national government for answers about your definition of the purpose of life.
Everyone has inherent, within themselves, not only the desire to seek the truth, but the ability to find it. Yielding to the natural force of attraction within you for the truth will result in a peace nurturing to your psyche.
And, when yielding to the natural attraction for the definition of truth, do not come to the presupposition that the result of this system of things comes from a cold, dark universe, capable only of inorganic, random collisions of undirected forces based upon a foundational impersonal law of gravity.
So yet, remain open to the idea that the answer to the great question ‘how can both mindless gravity and a purpose-driven spiritual, human intellectual attraction to truth always have existed beyond time?’ …
…is because a personal and purposeful God created them both.
